Danny Blas is the third of six children, and the first from his Chamorro family to attend and graduate from college.

Born at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, the Blas family returned to their ancestral home, the Pacific Island of Guam, where Danny lived from one year to nine years of age.

The Blas family moved from Guam to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois, where Danny completed third through twelfth grade.

After completing high school, Danny attended Eastern Illinois University for a few semesters and then transferred to Columbia College Chicago. Danny graduated with a B.A. in marketing communications (1999), and began professional careers, working for Chicago firms Amoco Oil Company, RELO and Digital People.

In 2002, Danny moved to San Diego to become marketing manager with a heating and air conditioning equipment distributor. Five years later, Danny began the process of becoming a teacher by becoming a substitute teacher in San Diego Unified.

In 2008, Danny completed his California teaching credential and began as a high school earth science teacher at Lincoln High School. Five years later, Danny transferred to Kearny High School.

Danny began his ninth year as a district teacher at SCPA, teaching middle school history.

Danny's favorite hobbies include songwriting, photography, travel, art in all its forms, and preparing and presenting food for people who enjoy eating.
