Dear Class of 2021!

When we first went into lockdown in March 2020, we had all assumed things would be back to normal in a matter of weeks. Yet, nearly one year later, we are still navigating through social distancing, mask wearing, and Zoom learning. During these times of uncertainty, we realize there are and will be many questions regarding the Class of 2021 as they close out their last few days at SDSCPA. We know this has been a difficult and emotional time for many of our seniors.

Please know that we are working diligently with our ASB and Senior Class Cabinet members to make these few remaining days positive and as memorable as possible. We will be scheduling another Class of 2021 Family Meeting via Zoom soon.

Also, please frequently review the CLASS OF 2021 UPDATES posted on the SDSCPA website.

We admire your strength and perseverance. We miss your faces and the joy you bring to our SDSCPA campus.

Thank you for your patience and grace through these challenging times.

Erin O'Connor Fetters, Senior Class Advisor,

Principal Farson,

IMPORTANT DETAILS & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS! (There will be more updates coming!)

What will our graduation look like for 2021? Are we actually going to be graduating at Petco Park?!

Yes! You did hear correctly. SDSCPA will be holding our commencement ceremony at Petco Park in Downtown San Diego. As of now, we do not have any more specifics than that, but please keep an ear to the ground for more details further down the road. However, to ensure that your student is prepared to participate, please be sure you have filled out the information sent to you from SD Grad Supply. Be advised: The SDUSD is paying for the rental of the graduation regalia; there is no cost to parents and/or students. You may, however, still purchase a cap and tassel for $20. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact SD Grad Supply directly at 619-440-5426.

What about Senior Awards night? What will this look like?

Just as stated prior, we continue to hope for an in-person ceremony of some form. We will continue to keep parents informed regarding this event as we move closer to the end of the school year.

Last year, there was a scholarship awarded to seniors. Is there going to be the same this year?

Each year, the Kiwanis Club of La Jolla donates a generous amount to be used toward post-secondary education. Should your student be interested in applying, please complete the SDSCPA Community Scholarship Application. The deadline to apply is FRIDAY, JUNE 11.

How will I get my cap and gown?

Caps and gowns will be delivered to the school and we will determine the best way to get these to students once we approach the end of the school year.

I see that some seniors have yard signs, do we get one?

All seniors will receive a Congratulatory 2021 SDSCPA Seniors Yard Sign. News on this will be sent out as soon as we have the exact information.

How will I return my SDSCPA textbooks and equipment?

The drop-off date for return of all SDSCPA textbooks, equipment, instruments, etc. will be forthcoming as we move closer to the end of the school year.

Are yearbooks still being purchased/ordered? If so, how can I order one?

If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, please visit Herff Jones to place your order.

Did I hear that our jerseys will only cost a dollar?

That is correct. Your Senior Class cabinet will be gifting your jerseys to you this year. To order, simply follow the link from the SDSCPA Linktree. This is a great way to connect with your cabinet and to stay in the know.
